CSSC keeps business informed during COVID-19 pandemic
CSSC (Cross-sector Safety and Security Communications) is a national initiative providing business leaders with safety and security communications.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, CSSC has cascaded authoritative security and safety information from a central hub to businesses across the UK with an average of 25 messages per month.
These timely and accurate messages were from the most authoritative agencies and trusted sources of information, including the College of Policing, National Police Chiefs’ Council, HM Cabinet Office and HM Home Office, Security Industry Authority and a number of police forces, including the Metropolitan, City of London and West Midlands.
As well as messages relating to COVID-19, CSSC continued to provide police and government organisations with a means to communicate vital crime prevention and counter terrorism messages. These included critical updates from National Fraud Intelligence Bureau, NCTPHQ and the National Crime Agency.
The CSSS reaches right across the UK, with CSSC regional hubs in all areas, including CSSC Scotland, CSSC Wales, CSSC East and West Midlands, CSSC South West and CSSC Northern Ireland. Through these hubs and 3,009 Industry Sector Leads (ISLs), the CSSC messages reach 136 trade bodies and 3,587 companies.
