On Thursday 30th September, The City Security Council (CSC) held their second Hi! Visibility day in collaboration with City of London Police (CoLP), once again the day was a huge success.
Hi! Visibility Day is an initiative in place to achieve engagement with the public in the City, to provide reassurance about the safety and security of the Square Mile and to enhance relationships across all professional security teams.
Following on from the previous Hi Vis Day in May, this joint approach to security from the CSC member companies and the CoLP aims to be a tangible force multiplier in terms of reassurance, deterrence and increasing security awareness.
Neill Catton, Chairman of City Security Council and Managing Director of CIS Security Ltd said: “The collaboration of Private Security and Police is gaining momentum as many CSC member companies and their teams demonstrate the strength of the partnership working with the CoLP. This initiative is not just about this day but is a focal point for the closer working links that are created between Policing and Private Security. It is clear to me and the participants that Private Security Professionals and Police Officers are working as equals. This unified approach is strengthening the preventative security message that the City is Safe for everyone while making it unsafe for those considering criminal activity.”
Ray Marskell, Chief Inspector – City of London Police commented: “HI! Visibility Day is an important part of how we police the City of London, as it helps to bring us closer to members of the public, and to better understand the needs of our business and security partners. Through working with security professionals such as the City Security Council and providing training on how to identify and report many types of criminality, we can amplify the positive work we do to provide reassurance to our communities and deter those with hostile intent. We look forward to continuing this partnership as HI! Visibility Day becomes a regular part of our policing calendar.”
Lorraine Mansfield – Strategic Account Director, Mitie added: “Another great Hi! Vis day in the City of London, building on the success of other City Security Council events. It was so great to see every security company engaging with each other and the City of London Police. We all recognise that together we are stronger and collective working will help us to keep our communities safe.”
Graham Bassett – Vice Chairman of City Security Council said:“Another impressive day of collaboration in the City of London, it’s great to see so many companies participating in this unique and innovative partnership – combined with the CSC communications platform this will be a real game changer in supporting the of City of London Police in keeping the City a safe place to work/live and visit”
Scott Gough – Managing Director, UniTrust Protection Services (UK) Ltd concluded: “Collaboration and partnership at its best! The second Hi! Vis day was such a huge success with over 30 security companies working alongside our colleagues in the police to deliver a day of reassurance in the Square Mile. It really is amazing what we as an industry can achieve when we work together, our challenge now, as a Council is to build upon our recent success!”
