The company’s flagship product, Genetec™ Security Center, is an open-architecture platform that unifies IP-based video surveillance, access control, automatic numberplate recognition (ANPR), communications, and analytics. Governments, enterprises, transportation and law enforcement professionals rely on it daily to improve security, increase collaboration, and gather operational intelligence.
The company serves its global customers via an integrated network of resellers and consultants in over 159 countries.
History of Genetec
At its outset, Genetec comprised a modest group of engineers with the ambition to build a physical security system that could empower customers to master their environments.
As users began to embrace IP video surveillance, the need for interoperation between video, access control and other security systems grew ever more pressing. In response, Genetec developed Security Center, a platform that brings together all security system components seamlessly within one user interface. It is the only unified platform on the market, built from the ground up and coded together for seamless interaction and workflow right out of the box.
Genetec solutions are highly flexible and support devices from an extensive ecosystem of trusted technology partners. Customers are therefore free to choose the right technologies for their environment, safe in the knowledge that all of the resulting data can be managed through one intuitive interface. It evolves with the customers’ needs, meaning users can future proof their investments, expanding the system at their own pace to respond to emerging threats or changing requirements.
Privacy by Design
Genetec believes that the respect for individuals’ privacy should be the foundation of responsible and innovative design. With this methodology in mind, Genetec solutions have been manufactured to help end users harden their cybersecurity posture and respect privacy, by making data and privacy protection features more accessible and configurable.
