Action Fraud has received over 180 reports since the start of the year about fake App Store subscription emails. The links within the emails lead to phishing websites that are designed to steal your Apple ID login details, as well as personal and financial information.
Different phish, same advice
Whether it’s through a cold call, or a text or email out of the blue, you should always question unsolicited requests for your personal or financial information. Even the most sophisticated phishing attempts can be thwarted if you simply refuse to give out personal information as a result of unsolicited communications. Emails are also used by cyber criminals to deliver malware, so don’t click on the links or attachments in any suspicious emails.
