Article of the Year Award
With so many excellent security-related articles published in City Security magazine and on our website, we feel that the authors should be recognised for their outstanding contribution to making us and the corporate world more security aware. Therefore, we are delighted to announce the City Security Article of the Year Award 2020 supported by the City of London Crime Prevention Association and the University of St Andrews.

Selecting the finalists
The finalists for the City Security magazine Article of the Year Award 2020 were selected from articles published in the last twelve months’ editions (Autumn & Winter 2019 and Spring & Summer 2020) and then subsequently published online on the citysecuritymagazine.com website.
For each edition, the top three articles were selected as finalists, based on the number of views for each article, since publication online, until 14th November 2020 By selecting three articles per edition, it means the articles from earlier editions do not have an unfair advantage of being online longer.
Selecting the winner
The competition will be launched on 1st December 2020 with advertising, a voting page on the website and social media.
Only subscribers to City Security magazine are eligible to vote – one vote per subscriber. If an individual is not already a subscriber and wants to vote, they can subscribe as part of the voting process.
By completing the voting form you wlll automatically be subscribed to receive City Security magazine each quarter in digital format, our bi-weekly security eReview and occasional emails relating to security that you may may find of interest. You can unsubcribe at any time. City Security magazine will not pass any of your details onto third parties. We have a GDPR policy that we adhere to.
Voting will close on the 9th February and all votes will be collated by the Editor. Full results will be published on the website. The Editor’s decision is final.
The winner will receive a prestigious plaque and certificate and will be announced at a City of London Crime Prevention Association meeting. (Details to be finalised.)

City of London Crime Prevention Association
The City of London Crime Prevention Association (CoLCPA) has been in existence for more than forty years and facilitates a network of like-minded security professionals. It is a partnership between the City of London Police, the wider security community and all those involved with safety, security and emergency response.
This unique association offers monthly meetings with a varied and interesting programme. Each meeting includes the latest terrorism and crime updates, as well as information on other threats and risks and the appropriate measures to mitigate these.
The CoLCPA is a registered charity and provides financial support to a number of crime prevention projects.

Handa Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence (CSTPV)
The Handa Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence (CSTPV) was established in 1994 as a research centre within the University of St Andrews. The centre and its renowned staff regularly contribute to public commissions and projects to assess and evaluate preparedness for terrorist attacks and to identify vulnerabilities likely to be exploited by terrorists. The centre is home to the highly acclaimed quarterly journal Terrorism and Political Violence published by Informa, the Certificate and Advanced Certificate in Terrorism Studies, plus the MLitt in Terrorism Studies.
